This was the first card I drew for this project!
I’ve been wanting to design a tarot deck for a while, I love the storytelling aspect of it, and been slowly learning more about the cards and what is behind them.
But I’ve been postponing and just not getting to start, one of many projects this happened.
So one day I finally decided to start, I didn’t choose an specific topic to organize it so the end result might be quite a bit over the place, instead I’ll just draw them as they come and what i feel when I see the deck illustrations. I am using a Rider deck.
Some friends and I meet up for weekly drink and draw sessions so I’ll be using them as an excuse to advance the project. Every session I’ll draw a card from the deck and then sketch it. I like this approach because I’m not following a strict order, and the randomness of it aligns with the project idea too.
Also as an extra hack it gamifies the process and my collecting brain gets a dopamine rush as the list gets filled.
First card became a skeleton gardener, because I love drawing them. Expect more as they come!
